Transfer Dies

The precision, speed, and quality of any high-volume sheet metal production are determined by one critical component: the die. A well-engineered die is the heart of the manufacturing process, ensuring every part is produced flawlessly and efficiently. At Emin Mekatronik, we are specialists in dies manufacturing, providing robust, high-precision tooling solutions that empower your production. We are your expert partner for complex progressive molds and large-scale transfer dies.

What are Progressive Molds? High-Speed Production

A progressive mold (or progressive die) is an advanced tooling solution designed for manufacturing small to medium-sized parts at extremely high speeds. In this process, a coil of sheet metal is automatically fed through the die. With each stroke of the press, the die performs multiple simultaneous operations—such as cutting, bending, punching, and forming—at a series of stations. The part remains attached to the carrier strip as it advances, or "progresses," through each station until it is completed and ejected at the final stage.

Key Benefits of Progressive Molds

  • High-Speed Output: Ideal for mass production, capable of producing hundreds of parts per minute.
  • Reduced Labor Costs: The automated process requires minimal operator supervision.
  • Exceptional Consistency: Every part produced is virtually identical, ensuring the highest level of quality and repeatability.
  • Optimized Material Usage: Intelligent strip layout design minimizes scrap, saving on raw material costs.

Transfer Molds: For Complex and Deep-Drawn Parts

When parts are too large or require processes too complex for a progressive die, a transfer mold (or transfer die) is the ideal solution. Unlike in a progressive die, the part is cut from the metal strip at the very first station. From there, a mechanical transfer system—such as robotic arms or transfer fingers—moves the individual part from one station to the next.

Progressive vs. Transfer Molds

The key difference is how the part moves. Because the part is independent in a transfer die, it can be lifted, rotated, and repositioned between stations. This freedom allows for complex operations like deep drawing (e.g., for cookware), integration of secondary operations like tapping or welding, and the forming of large components like automotive body panels.

Our In-House Die Manufacturing Process

Our commitment to quality is embedded in our comprehensive, in-house mold manufacturing process. We control every stage to guarantee a superior final product:
  1. Consultation & Design: We begin by understanding your needs. Using advanced CAD/CAE software, our engineers design the die and run simulations to validate the forming process before any metal is cut.
  2. Precision Machining: Die components are manufactured with extreme precision in our state-of-the-art machine park, utilizing CNC milling, Wire EDM, and grinding technologies.
  3. Assembly & Tryout: Our expert toolmakers assemble the die with meticulous care. We then conduct rigorous tryouts on our in-house presses, making adjustments until the die produces perfect parts that meet all specifications.
